How to Request Certificates/Academic Transcripts
Application for Certificate Issuance for current students
The following certificates can be obtained from the Automatic Certificate-issuing Machine (ACM) located on campus.
-Academic Transcript [Japanese/English] -Certificate of Enrollment [Japanese/English] -Certificate of Expected Completion/ Completion [Japanese/English] *Only available for second-year Master’s students. -JR Student Discount Certificate [Japanese only] -Certificate of Medical Checkup [Japanese/English] |
For certificates other than those listed above, fill out the application form at the academic affairs section, Graduate School of Environmental Science.
(Office hour: 8:30~12:15, 13:00~17:00 on weekdays, except during the year-end and New Year holidays)
Same-day issuance is unavailable. Please allow extra time when requesting. 【Estimated time from receipt of application to issuance: about 1 week】
※Students enrolled in laboratories not located on the Sapporo and Hakodate campuses, who are unable to use ACM or apply in person, should fill out the application form and submit it by email.
The certificate will be sent to your laboratory. You can collect it from your supervisor. (It will take about a week to receive it.)
If you are in a hurry or would like it to be sent outside of your laboratory, follow the same procedure as ” Application for Certificate Issuance for Graduates and former students ” below.
Application for Certificate Issuance for Graduates and former students
Apply as follows if you have enrolled in the followings.
・Graduate School of Environmental Science
・Graduate School of Environmental Earth Science
・Faculty of Environmental Earth Science
1. Application procedure
〇Applying by post (Only for Domestic)
Mail the following required documents.

Submit the form and present the required documents to our office. Please note that certificates cannot be issued on the same day.

[Regarding applications from overseas]
Applications cannot be accepted by email. In addition, we do not issue electronic certificates or send scanned files. Please ask a family member, friend, or acquaintance in Japan to apply on your behalf.
2. Return Envelope Size and Postage Rates
Please paste the required stamps on the return envelope, using the table below as a guide. Postage will be calculated as the weight of the certificate plus the weight of the return envelope.
If you would like your reply sent by express mail, please write “express mail” in red on the return envelope and paste the required amount of express mail postage.

4. Note
・There is no fee for issuing the certificate.
・We do not accept or distribute applications via telephone, fax, or email.
・Applications are not accepted, and certificates are not issued on weekends, national holidays, summer holidays, or during the New Year holidays.
・Please note that office hours may be temporarily suspended.
・We cannot pay postage fees in advance, and we do not accept cash on delivery requests.
・Certificates for those who have completed or left the Graduate School of Environmental Science【環境科学研究科】 (abolished in March 1993) and the Graduate School of Environmental Earth Science 【地球環境科学研究科】(abolished in March 2010) are certified and issued by the Dean of the Graduate School of Environmental Science【環境科学院】. Certificates for research students will be certified and issued by the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Earth Science.
