Prof. Masashi Ohara lectures at the inauguration ceremony of Korea Yeonlyeongcho (Trillium) Association of Hokkaido University

Prof. Masashi Ohara, a vice dean of our graduate school, attended and lectured at the inauguration ceremony of Korea Yeonlyeongcho Association of Hokkaido University, Korean alumni association of Hokkaido University. Assoc. Prof. Joo Young Cha in the division of Biosphere Science, who also is the director of Hokkaido University Seoul Office, exerted to organize this ceremony.
image The inauguration ceremony of Korea Yeonlyeongcho Association of Hokkaido University and the commission ceremony of Hokkaido University Ambassadors and Partners were held at the Hotel President in Seoul on Saturday, April 9th. Approximately 40 alumni and staff including Prof. Ichiro Ueda, an executive and vice president of Hokkaido University, attended to those ceremonies.

Prof. Ohara lectured “Life history of Trillium camschatcense, the flower of Hokkaido University” at the memorial lecture. “Yeonlyeongcho” means Trillium in Korean. His lecture included introduction of Trillium camschatcense which is a kind of plant that lives long and grow and bloom close to each other, and his hope that the Yeonlyeongcho Association stays long and brings many alumni together like how Trillium camschatcense grows. It was a wonderful ceremony with the lecture followed by a party.
