ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY POSITION

The Faculty of Environmental Earth Science, Hokkaido University seeks qualified
applicants for the following vacancy.
1. Job title
Professor or Associate Professor, full time (tenured) (number of vacancy: 1)
2. Institution
Group of Ecological Genetics, Section of Environmental Biology, Faculty of
Environmental Earth Science
3. Teaching duties
Course in Ecological Genetics, Division of Biosphere Science, Graduate School of
Environmental Science
4. Research field
Ecological genetics (including related fields such as molecular ecology and chemical
ecology) of plants or related organisms. The successful applicant is expected to
conduct research based on fieldwork.
5. Qualifications
The applicant must have a doctoral degree and excellent achievements in the relevant
research fields. The applicant also must be enthusiastic about education of
undergraduate and graduate students.
6. Probationary period
Three months
7. Working hours
Discretionary working system in the type of professional work. *The working hours
per day are deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes.
8. Salary
The salary will be determined in accordance with National University Corporation
Hokkaido University salary rules for faculty subject to annual salary system.

Employees’ Pension Insurance (Kousei Nenkin), MEXT Mutual Aid Association
Health Insurance, Employment Insurance, and Industrial Accident Compensation

(5) Future plan for research (approx. 1,000 words) and educational and social
contributions (approx. 600 words)
(6) Names with contact information of two references
(7) A storage medium (CD, DVD, or USB flash drive) containing above documents
(1-6) in PDF files (each in a separate file)
