The tenure-track faculty candidate may be promoted to a tenured associate professorship in five years or less following a positive tenure evaluation.

Minimum qualifications and requirements:
Applicants must have a PhD by the starting date of the appointment and the following professional competencies:
- to pursue research on the elucidation of ecological phenomena in aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity conservation through fieldwork as the main research method
- to facilitate a broad range of education based on the educational ideas of the Environmental Science Development Division
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas.
Research field: Animal Ecology
Scientific duties: Conducting research including fieldwork as described above
Teaching duties: Developing education programs and conducting classes in the Human and Ecological Systems Course, Environmental Science Development Division, Graduate School of Environmental Science
Starting Date:
April 1, 2019 or at the earliest date possible thereafter
Appointment Terms:
The intended tenure track period is a maximum of 5 years.
Probationary Period: 3 months
Salary and allowances:
Compensation based on the employment regulations of Hokkaido University
Working Hours:
Discretionary working system in the type of professional work.
The successful candidate will be deemed to have worked for 7 hours 45 minutes per working day.
