Title: Environmental and ecological services provided by the sea to
humans - adaptation to and mitigation of climate change

Abstract:
One way for researchers to better understand the significance of the
sea to human societies, and to convey that understanding to the
general public, is to revisit oceanographic knowledge in terms of
environmental and ecological services provided by the sea to
societies. Using the approach of services shows what humans may lose
because of climate change. It also leads to formulate measures of
adaptation and mitigation for the threatened services.
