We are currently seeking postgraduate
students who are interested in performing research on various chemical compounds
in the environment. For inquiries or additional information regarding our
postgraduate programs, please contact us via email or visit our department. We
also invite interested parties to visit and take a tour of our laboratory.
Because our experiments are based on natural
product chemistry, students with a chemistry background (organic chemistry, in
particular) are most welcome, although those with experience of molecular
biology techniques will also be considered. Furthermore, students with a biology
background such as ecological experiments, assays, and biosynthesis experiments
and those with biochemistry background are also encouraged to apply as they can
learn new fields at our laboratory while making use of their respective backgrounds.
In fact, our laboratory consists of people from diverse backgrounds.
For the entrance examination, past
examination questions are made available at our website. English examination
questions, which cannot be posted on the Internet due to copyright concerns, as
well as old examination questions will be provided upon request. There are currently
two routes for admission into our laboratory: either through the Division of
Environmental Science Development or through the Division of Environmental
Materials Science. Each division provides its own entrance examination. Please
contact us for additional information on entrance requirements. To date, people
who graduated from various universities have been admitted to our laboratory. Students
who have completed our masterfs program are currently employed by food or
analysis companies and all of the students who completed our doctoral program are
currently full-time researchers at various universities or organizations.
We look forward to hearing from you.
