Title: Studies on Ozone Depletion and Effects of UV Radiation on ecosystems

Some data suggest that the increase of chlorine and/or bromine compounds has almost stopped in the stratospheric layer. Nonetheless, we still need to pay attention to the issues of Ozone Depletion, because the ozone hole over the South Pole is still expanding and the ozone is decreasing even in the stratospheric layer of low-to-mid latitude area.
It is also important to predict the effects of UV radiation on ecosystems. We are therefore progressing our studies especially on the effects of UV radiation on the food chain and the material circulation in oceanic ecosystem.
