2025-06-09下記の通り、2025年7月14日(月)16:30~18:00にEESセミナーを開催します。
We will have an EES seminar on July 14, 2025, from 16:30 to 18:00.
Date&time: July 14th, 2025, 16:30~18:00
Room: D101
Lecturer: Prof. Luis Nunes (University of Algarve, Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability Center)
Workshop Title: Practical Workshop on Probabilistic Health Risk Assessment
Health risk assessment is a quantitative technique used to evaluate the increased health risks a population may experience from exposure to environmental hazards. It is legally required across numerous regulatory frameworks, including chemical production, transportation and marketing, circular economy initiatives such as wastewater reuse projects, in industrial emission licensing, and for marketing of cosmetics and personal care products.
Additionally, health risk assessment serves as the foundational methodology for developing environmental standards, namely air, soil, and water quality criteria, and food safety guidelines.
The session will introduce the health risk model and demonstrate the use of Monte Carlo simulations to do the probabilistic assessment, which is mandatory by many regulations.
Please bring your computer and install Argo (https://boozallen.github.io/argo/) before the workshop, if you wish to follow the live demonstration.
The session will take approximately 1.5h.
Biography:
