10th International Regional Spectral Model Workshop - Second Announcement

Following the earlier announcement for the 10th International Regional
Spectral Model Workshop, we are pleased to announce that the RSMW shall take
place on 9-13 August, 2010 at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan.

The event will be hosted and organized jointly by the IFES-GCOE Program at
Hokkaido University, The Ministry of the Environment of Japan, The
Meteorological Research Institute, the International Research Institute for
Climate and Society at Columbia University, the National Oceanographic and
Atmospheric Administration, and the Experimental Climate Prediction Center
of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

The RSM workshop is designed to gather together international regional model
developers and users to learn the latest modeling features being developed.
Through these discussions we wish to formulate future plans for the G-RSM at
ECPC. This workshop does not exclude participation of modelers other than
GSM and RSM. In fact, we strongly encourage people engaged in other models
to attend, compare results with other models, and discuss general regional
model related problems.

This year the workshop will be organized on the theme: Validation and
understanding of station observations using Single Column Model and High
Resolution Regional Model. We will invite several guest speakers on this
topic. Participants are encouraged to make relevant presentations on this
theme, if possible.

The deadline for registration is May 31st, 2010. For a registration form
and more information, please visit
http://ecpc.ucsd.edu/projects/RSM/RSM2010/
Financial aid decisions will be made after the registration deadline.

Sincerely,

Diane Boomer
