Call for Participants: Application of genetic diversity into crop production

Dear graduated students in Graduate school in Environmental Science and Graduate school of Agricultue

Announcement of GCOE Program
Theme: Application of genetic diversity into crop production

Hokkaido prefecture released some rice cultivars with good taste from 1980’s. Rice breeding is carrying out in Kamikawa agricultural experiment station and Chuo agricultural experiment station. GCOE provides the opportunities to visit and to have seminar in both agricultural experiment stations on September 5 and 6. Besides, Gcoe will invite guest researcher, Prof. Toyokazu Hoshi. He established the system to suppress the rice blight disease by mix cropping of isogenic lines in Hokuriku area. Graduated students will be able to have a seminar with Prof. Hoshi on September 6. Please join these programs described blow
