Course in Environmental Adaptation Science

The course in Environmental Adaptation Science is designed to enable students to explore following research areas: innovation of clean nanotechnology; search of environmental friendly material; analysis of biological reaction and defense mechanism to electromagnetic and sonic waves as well as chemical material; development of total environmental remediation using plants, microbes, physics, chemistry and physiology.

  • Development of survey technology of environmental load and measurement of environmental load
  • Development of clean nano-technology for lowering environmental load
  • Understanding of health effect, ecological effect, as well as , environmental adaptation mechanism by environmental load
  • Development of environmental risk assessment and prediction technology
  • Corporatization of eco-business

Courses and lab

Environmental adaptation:By surveying contemporary action and techniques on lowering environmental load, develop cleaner nano technology and appropriate course of action. Environmental metrology:Study several quantitative measuring methods. Offer support for certified measurer candidates. Environmental remediation:Learn several remediation methods as well as development of adsorption and substitute material, analysis of contaminated material, and technique of consequence assessment. Environmental analysis:Practical training on environmental adaptation, measurement technique on environmental remediation and technique on separation cleaning.

Entrance exam (may rewritten)

  • Foreign language
    English (Foreign students may take Japanese language) and/or TOEFL

  • Special subject
    Either one of the following 2 methods can be taken
    • Method A
      Mandatory: Short thesis regarding environmental science or environmental issue. NB this has to be submitted in the first 60 minutes of the exam.
      Selective: Choose two questions from following 12. Physics, Chemistry, biology, geosciences, mathematics, and environmentology
    • Method B
      10 minutes long oral examination, presenting the graduation thesis (PowerPoint, use your own computer) for those of whom first-choice were Environmental Adaptation Science. If second, none of these are necessary. Mature students can present recent activities.

  7. Searching valuable component in marine alga and structural analysis
  8. Development of collection-friendly adsorption material such as magnet for removal of contaminants
