Overseas Meeting Presentation Support (1st term, 2024)


"Environmental Science Alumni Association" will support selected students who give a presentation at an international conference held in abroad. Both face-to-face (physical, traditional) conferences and online conferences are eligible.

Application eligibility: Applicants must satisfy the following conditions;

  1. Applicants must be doctor or master course students who belong to the Graduate School of Environmental Science at the time of application and have completed the registration for the Environmental Alumni Association membership before the application.
  2. Applicants must belong to the Graduate School of Environmental Science at the time of the conference.

Applicable travel or online event: Travel to participate in an international overseas conference that the applicant gives a presentation, or international online conference held in English.

Travel period or term of online event: An applicant selected for a face-to-face conference is required to leave Japan (face-to-face) or attend the meeting (online) sometime from April 1st, 2024 to September 30, 2024.

Travel support: For an applicant selected for a face-to-face conference, we support a roundtrip air ticket and an accommodation fee. For an applicant selected for an online conference, we support the attendance fee. The maximum support is up to ¥100,000.

Number of adoptions: In principle, 1 student in a half year period. For online conferences, more than two applicants might be selected.

Experience report: The selected students are required to submit an experience report, program, and photos of the conference (for an online conference, screenshot of the conference web site or photos of the student during attendance) within one month after the conference. They will be used on our website and the Hokkaido University Frontier Foundation website. If you will present a poster, the poster may be displayed at the home-coming day. The winner may be asked to give a short lecture concerning the conference in the Home-coming Day.

Under the support from the "Environmental Science Alumni Association", we have opened a recruitment for excellent doctor and master course students. Through this program, a selected student can get a chance to give a presentation at an international conference held in abroad. With consideration for Coronavirus situation, students who are going to attend a face-to-face (physical, traditional) conference or an online conference are eligible. When traveling for a face-to-face meeting, please follow the policies of the destination country, the Japanese government, and Hokkaido University, and take sufficient care and consideration.

Application eligibility: Applicants must satisfy the following conditions;

  1. Applicants must be doctor or master course students who belong to the Graduate School of Environmental Science at the time of application and have completed the registration for the Environmental Alumni Association membership before the application.

We had previously announced that we would post a next announcement by the end of July, regarding "Academic Student Outreach Dispatch Support Program” for the second semester 2020 (for travel between October 2020 to March 2021). We regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel the application process for the second semester 2020, considering the fact that immigration is strictly controlled in the most of countries, and that many international conferences have been cancelled or postponed. We will make an announcement for the next round (first semester of 2021, for travel between April 2021 and September 2021) in December 2020. Thank you for your understanding.

Selection and result: The committee will have a selection. You will be notified of a result by the middle of February, 2018.

Experience report: The selected students are required to submit an experience report and program and photos of the conference within one month after they return. The experience report will be introduced on our website and the Hokkaido University Frontier Foundation website. If you will present your work in the conference as a poster, the poster might be displayed at the home-coming day held in 2018 or 2019. In addition, winner might be asked to give a short lecture concerning the conference in the home-coming day.

Under the support from the “Environmental Science Alumni Association”, we open a recruitment for excellent doctor and master course students. Through this program, selected students can get a chance to give a presentation at an international conference hold in abroad.

Application eligibility: Applicants must satisfy the following conditions;

  1. Applicants must be doctor or master course students who belong to the Graduate School of Environmental Science at the time of application and have completed the registration for the Alumni Association before the application.
  2. Applicants must belong to the Graduate School of Environmental Science at the time of departure.

Travel period: Selected students are required to leave Japan sometime from April 1st 2018 to September 26th, 2018.
Travel support: We support a roundtrip air ticket and an accommodation fee according to the rule set by the committee of this program; however, the maximum support is up to ¥100,000.

Through this program, selected master course students could get a chance to give a presentation at an international conference held in overseas. The schedule of FY2014 recruitment will be informed near future.

  • Students must be the master course students who belong to Graduate School of Environmental Science at the time of application and need to be done the registration for the Alumni Association before the application.
